10 simple tricks to lower your baby's temperature

If your child has a fever – do not hesitate to try to lower the temperature. It is true that fever is the body’s natural response to disease; a defense mechanism to limit the spread of disease-causing microorganisms. However, a high fever can be dangerous, especially for young children. Therefore, it is good if you can lower your baby’s temperature.

Before we continue, we should warn that a fever can be very innocent or very serious, depending on its origin. Therefore, always take your child to a doctor if the fever exceeds 38 degrees – or even before that. The doctor will be able to decide which treatment should be applied.

The pediatrician will do the work of diagnosing the causes of the fever, and prescribing the medication you need to give to your child. It is important to carefully note the times and amounts of medication, and any other instructions.

Never overlook the doctor’s statement, or the prescribed medication. Never try to treat your child with home remedies just because “that’s the way it used to be” or “that’s the way my mother did”.

The “tricks” we suggest here, as well as other tips you can find on the internet, are only complementary to the effect of the prescribed medicine, or they can be used in some situations as an alternative.
