4 fun magic tricks for kids

Magic is fascinating for both children and adults, it does not matter how old you are. Whether you want to surprise your children at home or at a party, we have here a list of magical magic tricks for children.

They will make your children yawn in surprise!

1. The disappearing coin

Making a coin disappear is one of the simplest magic tricks.

For this trick you need the following:

  • Two sheets of white drawing paper
  • A glass
  • Transparent tape
  • A coin
  • A small cloth that covers the glass

To do the trick, you need to prepare a little. Take one of the sheets of paper and draw a circle using the opening of the glass. Then cut out the circle. Tape this circle over the opening on the glass.

Tape the second sheet of plain white paper to the table and secure it with the tape.

The purpose of attaching the paper circle to the top of the glass is that when it is facing down towards the paper, no one can see that the top of the glass is wearing the paper circle.

How to do

When everything is ready, you can start your magic trick. Tell the children that you will make the coin disappear. Cover the glass with a handkerchief or a small cloth and ask them to say the magic words.

Remove the cloth from the glass and the children will think that the coin is gone, but it is actually the paper taped to the top of the glass that covers the coin.

2. The balloon that does not explode

For this magical magic trick you need the following materials:

  • Several balloons
  • Needles (or any other sharp object that is less dangerous)
  • Transparent tape

Prepare the trick by inflating all the balloons. Then you just need to put a small piece of tape on your own balloon. The balloons given to the children will be without tape so that they can not figure out the trick.

When performing the trick, distribute the balloons without tape to the children and give them something sharp that they can stick in the balloon.

Everyone should try to inflate their balloon at the same time. The children’s balloons will explode, but not your balloon as long as you stick the needle where you put the tape.

3. The stolen nose

Even though this trick is meant for very young children, it always makes them laugh.

You just need to say that you should take the baby’s little nose and grab it for a few seconds. Then slide your thumb between your middle finger and forefinger as if it were a small piece of the baby’s nose.

For a few seconds, the child really thinks that the nose has disappeared.

4. The magic card

For this magic trick, all you need is a deck of cards containing 21 cards. Choose a child from the audience and let it choose a card. Let the child show it to the audience if there are others watching.

When the child has chosen his card, lay up the cards, one at a time so that you can see what kind of card it is, in three piles and ask the child in which pile the card is.

Place the pile of the selected card between the other two piles and ask the child once again to indicate the pile that contains the card twice more.

The card chosen by the child will be the center card in the pile that the child identifies after the third attempt.

Practice the magic trick in advance

A big part of succeeding with these magic tricks for children is to practice them in advance. Therefore, we suggest that you practice in front of a mirror, not only the trick but also how to act (it is an important part of all magic tricks!).

Even though you do magic tricks for children, remember that they are very intelligent and that children can quickly discover where the “magic” is if you do not practice.
